Instructions: Subscribe to HIPAA-REGS List

Subscribe to this list to be notified by e-mail when documents or events related to the HIPAA Administrative Simplification regulations (such as NPRMs) are published or posted.

To subscribe:

  • send e-mail to listserv@list.nih.gov
  • Leave the subject line of the e-mail blank.
  • Type the following into the first line in the body of the message:
    subscribe HIPAA-REGS first-name last-name

Replace first-name and last-name with the given name and the family name of the person subscribing to the list. The given name could be a nickname (like Bill) or however the person would like to be addressed in messages. Middle initials are not allowed.

There should only be one line in the message body. The subject line will be ignored.

The subscriber's e-mail address will be picked up from the From: field automatically generated by the e-mail software and should not be entered into the message by the subscriber.

You will receive a reply confirming your subscription.

Instructions: Unsubscribe from HIPAA-REGS List

To unsubscribe:

  • send e-mail to listserv@list.nih.gov
  • Leave the subject line of the e-mail blank.
  • Type the following into the first line in the body of the message:
    unsubscribe HIPAA-REGS
